The Splendor of Icons

In my series “The Splendor of Icons”, I portray well-known personalities from music, film, and culture – icons whose impact goes far beyond their own lifetime. The focus is not only on their faces, but on their aura, their energy, and the special “splendor” we associate with them.

What makes this series unique:
I work with real, dried, and preserved flowers, which I carefully select, arrange, and embed in acrylic. I don’t just paint – I breathe life into the images. The flowers are not mere decoration; they give the artworks a heartbeat.

The blossoms come from different years and carry their own stories within them. This makes each portrait a one-of-a-kind piece in which time, memory, and nature merge with the iconic figure. Finally, the flowers are sealed with acrylic so that the floral structure remains permanently preserved within the body of the artwork.
